Every journey begins with a single step

Which is actually not true at all, because you first have to get to the point from which you take the first step of a journey.

Therefore, rephrased:

Every new journey begins with a first step.

The question remains: What kind of journey? Where do you want to go? And where did you come from in the first place? Where are you now, taking that first step? And who are you anyway? Let's start with this last question ...

My name is Marcel F. Kleineberg. The F. stands for "Felix". Latin for "the happy one". And indeed, I can count myself truly lucky. Few people whose life path has even a slight parallel with mine would consider themselves lucky. Retired from the profession of my choice for health reasons. Suddenly single parent with three children and no social network like parents or grandparents to step in when things get too out of hand. Two unfinished studies. Two books I was soon no longer satisfied with.

What at first sounds like the waypoints of a tragedy are actually medals that I can proudly pin to my chest. Somehow, in the midst of pure chaos, I managed to bundle the experiences from the two first attempts at writing and not only was able to lay the foundation for my book series "The Chronicles of the Augurs", but also set up a podcast project with a friend of mine.

Although one could rightly say that the journey has long since begun, I feel like I'm at the finish and the start at the same time. More than a stage finish, the journey behind me feels complete. A chapter has come to an end. More than that, an act, if not a whole volume. Not a particularly beautiful chapter. But it brought me to this point.

To the point that marks the beginning of a new journey.

Although the backdrop hasn't really improved with the change from the all-important pandemic to an impending World War III, with this maiden entry into the blog I take the first step on that journey with dogged optimism.

And...

Not only is the blog hereby opened, no: the website is also officially launched. It also marks the step from self-publishing to private publishing.

Therefore, it is more than just my journey. Because I'm taking you, dear readers, with me and will give you insights into the work of an author, self-publisher, private publisher and podcaster, garnished with tips and tricks from the field of coping with everyday life and reconciling vocation and real life.

In the podcast "Kacknoobs" you can also find out about the ins and outs of writing - if you're able to understand German.

There will also be additional, exclusive content on Patreon in the future.
